Measurement of Electromagnetic Absorption
Introduction

Perform a standardized test IEEE std 1128
With the implementation of the Advanced NRL Arc Room, the Institute has developed a unique laboratory environment to measure the electromagnetic absorption rate as a static, variable-frequency buoy in accordance with IEEE std 1128 standards. Also considering the capabilities of this system and the application of the CMI®WAA-30 measurement software, we can also measure the electromagnetic characteristics of all types of radome structures..
Measurement of Electromagnetic Absorption Test Setup

Test Setup Electromagnetic Absorption Measurement
Measurements in this laboratory are based on the methods used in the IEEE std 1128 standard. It also allows you to test the sample using the designed automation. Testing of absorbers is done using the comparison method of the reference page in different dimensions. The maximum disassembly of the antennas is 1.8 meters with the desired sample. Also, considering the special conditions for measuring the types of radome is also provided.
Capabilities
- Capable of generating pyramidal and standard plate electromagnetic absorbers
- Using of various types of electromagnetic loads with functionality in different capacities
- Enhanced 3DP1000 arc electromechanical system and automatic 3DP2000 automatic reverse arc
- Measuring various Shield plates with high visibility of 80%
Test Specification
It is possible to measure the absorption rate by using several different measurement methods in this laboratory:
- Frequency range from 2 GHz to 18 GHz with 10 MHz steps.
- Presenting 1D, 2D graphs of absorbing materials in the range of requested frequencies.
- Provide a standardized analysis of the measurement of material absorption and its simultaneous comparison with the dielectric characteristic value based on the customer's need.
- Extract the data table to compare with the simulations.
