About the Advanced Electromagnetic Lab of Iran
the Advanced Electromagnetic Lab
The CMI Advanced Electromagnetic Laboratory started to work in 2013 with the use of specialists in the scientific and industrial fields. Advanced electrical and electromechanical equipment and automation systems were designed and built in the short-term plan. The Anechoic Chamber and the NRL Arc Room, one of the long-term research programs of the Institute, began to work in 2015. The exploitation of this laboratory was accurately confirmed in 2017-2018. Many tests are currently done in the antenna area, radar cross section, absorbance measurement, dielectric characteristics of the material and antenna scattering parameters.
Anechoic Chamber
Anechoic Chamber
One of the special features of the CMI electromagnetic lab is the Anechoic Chamber. The design of this room is very accurate and based on 3D simulations and logical formulas. The absorbers used in the CMI Lab are based on the latest technologies, fully native and high-performance, so that they cover surfaces in the wall and absorb electromagnetic energy, thus they allow the Anechoic Chamber to simulate the free space environment for sensitive applications.
NRL Arc Room
NRL Arc Room
Another special feature of the CMI Lab is the Arc Room for absorption and radome measurements. This room is also covered with high-performance absorbers like the Anechoic Chamber. The utilization of the precise linear positioner system for the three-axis movement of antennas, movable supports, reference metal plates in various dimensions, and the application of the accurate software automation according to the used standard make the test procedure possible.
